Chair of the European Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers (AAG)

After serving two terms as Vice-Chair (2019-2021) then Chair (2021-2023) of the European Specialty Group of the AAG, I was re-elected for a second term in the latter position in April 2023.

Flashback

In Fall 2012, I had the privilege of accompanying Dr. Yi-Fu Tuan, one of my former professors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, to the International Festival of Geography in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, France. Professor Tuan was being awarded the prestigious Vautrin-Lud Prize in Geography and on the occasion he was invited to deliver a keynote lecture. AAG 2017 Annual Meeting in Boston

On April 5-9, 2017, I attended the annual meeting of the American Association of Geographers in Boston, MA. I presented a poster on “The ‘Bridge’ in the Danish National Consciousness” on April 6.

Conference at the University of Pittsburgh

On March 16-18, 2017, I participated in a European Studies conference at the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA) on “A Diversity of (European) Identities: From the Subnational to the Supranational“.
